I would like to get certified as a wetland delineator. Does this class get me certified?
The US Army Corps of Engineers HAD a wetland delineator certification program. It has been on hold since the mid-1990's due to funding issues. There are a number of States that offer wetland certification. The Society of Wetland Scientist also has a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification program. These programs require a week long wetland delineator class similar to the one we offer, as a prerequisite to enter into their certification process. Upon completion of the class, you will be awarded a certificate of training that can be used to document your attendance at the class. It should be noted that the certificate of training does not certify you to conduct wetland delineations. Only the Corps and some States can offer the certification.
Do you offer any scholarships?
Several of our classes are eligible for Workforce Improvement Act (WIA) funding. In NC, The Swamp School is listed as an approved workforce training provider under the NC Stars Program. You will need to coordinate with your local workforce improvement board to get funding.
We occasionally receive donations to help offset some of the tuition costs. If you need WIA help or would like to inquire about scholarships, please submit a help ticket.
How do I sign up for a class?
Please find the class you would like to take on our site and click the "sign up here" button. There are several sign-up pages found on the site and not all of the classes are on the sign-up page. We currently working with three different admissions offices for our classes and the office differs depending upon which class you are taking. To avoid further confusion each class has its own admissions button that takes you to the correct page. If you get lost, just start back with the class description page. I know this is a bit clunky, but oddly it seems to be working.
I need you to fill out a W-9 before a check can be cut. Do you do this?
Absolutely. Please fill out a help ticket and reference your name and invoice number. We usually fax or email this, so please include a fax and/or email address for us to send it to you.
I would like to pay by check. To whom is the check payable to and what is the mailing address.

I have checked the billing address and typos. Everything is correct, but my card is still being rejected. What is the problem?
Some company issued credit cards and MANY government issued credit cards do not allow you to make purchases online. The card is blocked for web use. Please submit a help ticket and we will investigate why the card was not accepted. If it turns out that the card is blocked it is not usually possible to have the block removed. You can always mail us a check or use another credit card.
My credit card comes back rejected. I am a good person and pay my bills, what is the problem?
The credit card number is matched against the billing address of the card. If the address is incorrect, the card will be rejected. This is an issue for company credit cards. Often the credit card billing address is not the same as the office address. Please also check to make sure there are not any typos in the address fields when you check out.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. We accept Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover
