Scholarship
Help send a wetland scientist to school.
Over the last several years we have been getting numerous requests for scholarship assistance. Some of our programs are eligible for Pell Grant money and Workforce Improvement Act (WIA) funding. The Pell grants are a need based college scholarship program. The WIA funding is for folks that have been laid off or otherwise unemployed. To determine eligibility please contact the NC State Office of Professional Development Office at 919-515-2261.
Unfortunately, this only covers a small percentage of our students. This is where you can help. Please consider making a voluntary donation to our scholarship fund. We will use this fund to offset the tuition of qualified students. This is a direct way that you can help get folks back to work.
Many of our students are taking our classes for the workforce training aspect of the programs. Our classes, quite literally help people get jobs. We have numerous examples of students that are trying to get a wetland job only to be out done by someone who already has the training. If they had been trained they would have a job.
If you would like to help us get more folks back to work, please consider making a donation in any amount. Please use the “Donate” button to pay online using our secure server. We accept most major credit cards.
Please note that The Swamp School is not a non-profit organization and your donation would not be considered a charitable contribution for tax purposes. However, we will provide a listing of all donors along with links to their websites as a special thank you. The Swamp School has a very high page rank so if you are looking to enhance your SEO a link from our site to yours would definitely help with your advertising. Consequently, your donation may be considered an ordinary advertising expense and may be deductible. Please check with your accounting professional before making any tax related decisions.
