Call for Papers – Ecological Restoration 2010 Un-Conference
The Swamp School is pleased to announce the 2010 Ecological Restoration Un-Conference. The live version will be be held in Raleigh in the Spring. The date and location is still being worked on.
Perhaps you might have noticed that this is an un-conference. What is an un-conference you ask. In short it is:
An unconference is a facilitated participant-driven face-to-face conference around a theme or purpose.
We are looking for participants to come up with topics relevant to the main theme of ecological restoration. This could include discussions on wetlands regulation, carbon sequestration, green jobs, stream restoration, etc. We have set up a wiki so that you may upload you topics and summaries. The URL for the wiki is: http://bit.ly/4lPqlR
The conference will be held as both a live venue and an online event. We are also looking for sponsors to help defray the conference cost. The goal is to get as many people to this unconference for the least cost possible. This is not any type of high price traditional conference. Rather a meeting of the minds of some of the top environmental professionals and students to help solve some of the major environmental issues facing us today. Please comment on this post if you would like more information. The wiki is also up and running and we welcome your submissions.
